Ramon Basiana, president of Federació Catalana de Patinatge (Fecapa), and Muriel Casals, president of Òmnium Cultural, presented the sponsorship of Òmnium for the FECAPA Catalonia National Teams, after both parties have reached a collaboration agreement, in a ceremony with the presence of David Moner, president of Unió de Federacions Esportives de Catalunya (UFEC) and Santi Siquier, representing the Secretaria General de l’Esport of Generalitat de Catalunya.

Catalonia loses to World Stars 2 - 3 after a good first half, when they were winning 2-0 with the goals scored by Jordi Ferrer and Raül Marín. In the second half the World Stars overturn the score with 2 goals by Joan Feixas and the last one by Romà Bancells, seven minutes left. Catalonia had several chances to tie the match but it was not possible and they will play -as seconds ranked- with the top ranked of Group B, that will be decided in the last match of the day: Blanes-Angola.

Angola has beaten Switzerland 2-0 in their first match in competition, and will play the semifinals. The result of the last match of the day, that will face Angola with Blanes, will decide the top ranked of the Group B.
The first half has been really balanced, ending with a 0-0 tie. In the second half, "Johe" Viera has scored a direct foul and Mendes has scored the final 2-0.

2011 BLANES GOLDEN CUP 2011 |

The 8th edition of the Blanes Golden Cup, that was presented this afternoon in the gardens of Mar i Murtra in Blanes, will be held from June 16 to 19 with the men's national teams of Catalonia, France, Switzerland, Angola, a world stars team and the host team, the Sather Blanes. This year the competition will be played in the new Sports City Hall of Blanes.
The Blanes Golden Cup is an international competition officially recognized by the Committee International of Rink Hockey.
In the presentation several authorities involved in the world of sport: The president of Sather Blanes, Josep Ridaura highlighted the importance of the competition nowadays and expressed the intention to recover the ladies category for the next edition. Josep Pujols, representative of the Catalan Council for Sport, highlighted the importance of competition at the level of Catalonia. Meanwhile, Joan Riera, representing FECAPA, highlighted the fact that Catalonia can participate in a competition against teams of this nature and officially recognized. Finally, the Sports Councillor of the City of Blanes, Xavier Oms, highlighted the importance of this competition for the city of Blanes.
